DGUV Regulation 2 “Company doctors and occupational safety specialists”
Also: DGUV Vorschrift 2, DGUV V2
Definition
DGUV Regulation 2 defines the extent to which companies must be supported by company doctors and occupational safety specialists – with service hours depending on the support group or the alternative support model for small businesses.
Companies with more than 20 employees receive standard support consisting of basic support (fixed service hours per employee and year according to support groups I to III) and company-specific support, the scope of which the company determines based on specific occasions. Small businesses with up to 20 employees receive simplified support without fixed hours. These limits apply since the revision that the accident insurance institutions are putting into force from 2026; previously the limit was 10 employees.
Companies with up to 50 employees can – if their accident insurance institution offers it – instead choose the alternative needs-based support (the “employer model”, Unternehmermodell): the employer attends motivation and information training and only calls in the safety specialist and company doctor when needed.
