Occupational safety for metalworking – across every hall and site

Lasers, paint shop, machines, warehouse and shipping: metalworking brings many hazards together, often spread across several sites. AMS Go brings risk assessments, inspections, recurring checks and hazardous substances together in one system.

About Schake

Schake develops and manufactures barrier technology, construction and traffic safety equipment as well as urban design products – from bollards and barriers to mobile fencing and site equipment. Founded in 1908 by Johann Schake in Wetter-Volmarstein as a farrier and wagon smithy, the company has been family-owned for five generations and manufactures at several production sites in the Hagen area – with a high degree of vertical integration and a modern machine park including tube and flatbed lasers.

Case study

AMS Go at Schake

How a manufacturer of barrier and construction technology with several sites in the Hagen area organizes occupational safety with AMS Go.

Starting point

Five sites, many trades

At Schake, production, administration, warehousing and shipping are spread across five sites in Hagen and Wetter (Ruhr) – with laser cutting, a paint shop, machines and logistics, each with very different hazards.

Solution

Occupational safety centralized in AMS Go

Schake uses AMS Go to organize occupational safety digitally and centrally. Identical content only needs to be created once and can be reused for other sites.

Benefit

One system instead of many binders

Risk assessments, actions and records are all in one place. Those responsible can see what is still open at any time – across sites and audit-proof.

Typical hazards in metalworking – and how AMS Go helps

Lasers, paint shop, machines and logistics: every area comes with its own hazards. AMS Go helps you assess them systematically, follow up on actions and keep evidence at hand.

Laser cutting & sheet metal

Hazards: Laser radiation, sharp edges, noise, fumes and dust

Risk assessments per machine and workstation – operating instructions digitally accessible to all employees.

Painting & coating

Hazards: Paints, solvents, fire and explosion risk

Manage safety data sheets centrally – AI extracts the key information and transfers it into the hazardous substances register.

Machines & equipment

Hazards: Crushing and shearing points, recurring inspections

Inspection intervals and records in the inspection register, defects from inspections go straight into the action plan.

Warehouse & shipping

Hazards: Forklifts, heavy loads, traffic routes

Plan and document safety briefings with the training matrix – check in drivers and contractors via visitor management.

Rollout

How an AMS Go rollout works

Our approach adapts to your size and sites – from a single plant to an international group.

  1. 1

    Kick-off & assessment

Together we look at your processes, sites and existing documents and decide where you start.

  2. 2

    Data migration

We take over existing risk assessments, hazardous substances, operating instructions, users and trainings during onboarding.

  3. 3

    Everyday start

After a short introduction you get going right away – in the web app and with the mobile app on the shop floor.

  4. 4

    Expand step by step

More areas, sites and modules are added when you are ready – without switching systems and without dead weight.

Where we take the load off metalworking companies

Beyond the hazards in production, it is mostly about organization: multiple sites, inspection duties and changing people on site.

Multiple sites, one system

Create risk assessments and operating instructions once and copy them to other sites – each site keeps its own overview.

Inspection duties & records

Keep track of inspection deadlines for machines and equipment and document records audit-proof – ready for audits and authorities.

Briefings & contractors

Plan and document safety briefings, check in visitors and contractors digitally and brief them before they enter.

What metalworking companies typically gain

  • Create content once and use it across sites
  • Inspection deadlines and open actions always in view
  • Hazardous substance data captured from safety data sheets by AI
  • Audit-proof documentation for audits and authorities
