TRBS (Technical Rules for Operational Safety)
Also: Technical Rules for Operational Safety, Technische Regeln für Betriebssicherheit
Definition
The TRBS specify the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health for work equipment and installations subject to monitoring – including the risk assessment (TRBS 1111), inspections (TRBS 1201) and persons qualified to carry out inspections (TRBS 1203).
They are drawn up by the Committee on Operational Safety and, like the TRGS, create a presumption of conformity: anyone who follows them complies with the ordinance. Particularly relevant in practice are TRBS 1201 with its parts on individual types of installation (such as Part 1 on work equipment in potentially explosive areas and Part 4 on lifts) and TRBS 2121 on the hazard of falls from height.
Legal basis
